How do you react and respond when your faith is shaken? Faith can just be a belief without any valid reasoning; however, it has different meanings to different people.
To others it’s a kind of superstition, others are a positive force that can make the impossible possible, to rational thinkers it’s the opposite of reasoning.
Basically, to the non-believers and believers when faith is put to test is reaffirmed based on their beliefs or past experiences.
There is no person without faith as true faith is open to experiment and verification which is confirmed by your knowledge.
Gaining knowledge needs faith and thereafter, inaction or response also faith is required.
Everyone has experienced those days that feel it can’t get any worse. These are the days where one bad thing after another just keeps coming at you.
Some could turn from days to weeks of bad experiences that will make you lose faith.
Having those bad days doesn’t mean God is angry with you or you have displeased him.
Mathew 5:45 says; ‘The rain falls on the just and on the unjust’.
It means that this is prone to happen to any human being regardless of your innocence or sanctity.
Below I want to share with you 12 things to do when your faith is shaken:
1. Put your trust in God.
Well, God is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the beginning and the end, there no other means, but to trust him in everything before you begin working on yourself.
Humans being will disappoint you and expecting much from individuals have will just make you bitter from all the disappointments you have experienced and are yet to experience. Jeremiah 17:5 says.‘Cursed is the one who trusts in man…’
We have no other way but to trust God as he is our source of peace, love, strength, and hope. Trusting God is a half the load lifted as you know that your problem is being handled supernaturally.
2. Pray about it.
Trusting in God must go hand in hand with pray. I know at this particular time you are feeling hopeless and forgotten by God. You don’t want’ t bother your family and friends with your complaining about how things have been going left in your life.
As you put your trust in God, your faith will begin to grow and you will see a turn around in your life situations.
Jesus said,” Ask and it shall be given to you”. We trust God with our instinct but forget the power of prayer. No matter how low you are feeling, after praying you tend to feel better and lightened.
God will never get tired of listening to your prayers. Rebuilding your faith will begin by praying, as pray is a matter of faith and belief.
3. Work on changing your situation.
James 2:17 says “Faith without works is dead”. As we are having faith in the promises of God to manifest in our lives, we should also be working our faith.
Working our faith means we are doing something more than praying and waiting on God.
It is the time for fasting, studying the word of God, praying, and doing something more about it to improve your situation.
When praying for a financial breakthrough or looking for a job, you will need to go and connect with people outside.
As a Christian, you cannot just wait around for a blessing to fall on your lap. You may feel discouraged to pray, associate with people, fast, or even give to God.
Ask God for the courage and strength to do what is required.
When you seek God, you are filled with strength as it says in Nehemiah 8:10 “The Joy of the Lord is my Strength”.
When your faith is shaken remember not to stray from the source of your joy who is God, Philippians 4:7; says, “and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”.
